Big Turk is unlike any other chocolate bar that I have tasted. I have never had real Turkish Delight, but I highly doubt if it is anything similar to what is in the centre of this bar. It is a firm red jelly concoction that has a flavour similar to the Big Foot candy. The chocolate coating is fairly thin, which helps keep the fat content to 4 g. This is unheard of in a chocolate bar. I'm sure that it is an excellent choice for dieters, if not for diabetics. This bar sits light in your stomach, has excellent flavour, and sticks to your teeth for a long lasting taste. I love the scalloped edges. These ribs divide the bar up into perfect bite sized sections, as well as increase the surface area. This in turn maximizes the chocolate to jelly ratio without increasing chocolate thickness. My only criticism of the Big Turk is in regards to the packaging design. The colour scheme does nothing to reflect the rich cultural heritage of its namesake, in fact it could be considered a slap in the face considering US Middle East policies. Did I mention that this bar is not even available in the US. I tried to bring a case through customs and it was confiscated. The border guards may have deemed it as "UnAmerican", but I proclaim it to be Unbridled Delight (Turkish Style).
Ratings:
Flavour: 4.5/5
Packaging 1.5/3
Intangibles 2/2
Overall 8/10
Bad packaging aside, the Big Turk is one tasty bar. Its flavour lasts, picks you up quick, and won't slow you down.

I absolutely LOVE Big Turk bars. I have had real Turkish delight and you're correct in that it's in no way similar. I was surprised that they weren't available in the States (I'm in Canada).
