There was a time when I would have scoffed at this headline. I may have even questioned the integrity of the blogger who had posted it. How could a single chocolate covered Maraschino cherry be even remotely filling? I had passed over the Blossom on many a trip to the corner store, assuming it to be no more than an appetizer. Little did I know that this tiny cube shaped box housed the confectionery equivalent of a seven course meal. I'm not sure about the number of calories or grams of fibre, but I know that when I finally ate one, I did find it surprisingly hearty. The centre was painfully sweet, but the substantial coating of chocolate, coconut and peanuts really filled me up and left me satisfied for an extended period of time. I'm not saying that I liked the taste of it, but you simply can not argue with its ability to combat hunger. My hat also goes off to the designer of the packaging, as it clearly displays the contents and keeps the chocolate fresh with its innovative combination of foil wrapping within a cardboard box. I particularly enjoy the mouth watering cross section photo.

What the Cherry Blossom lacks in good taste, it makes up for in densely packed rib sticking calories. Though I probably will not crave one any time soon, I recently stocked my 72 hour emergency kit with a case of 48 of them.

What a sublime review of the Cherry Blossom. I was enthralled from start to finish. I grade the entry thusly.

The chocolate is great stuff here folks. Made in Smith's Falls, Ontario - that's Hershey Country!
Seriously though, Cherry Blossoms rock.
